By Ayako sensei, Posted on 06/10/2016

“Nabe” is a pot.

Yes, like this.

But in terms of food, “Nebe” is a hot pot.

We have variety of Nabe throughout Japan, and as you know, we love eating Nabe in winter.

◯Ishikari Nabe (Hokkaido)

Hokkaido is famous for seafood and they put salmon with cabbage, onion, shiitake mashroom, shallot etc. in Nabe.

It is miso based and you can enjoy the salmon and vegetable stock.

Imagine how amazing the flavour is…

◯Kiritanpo Nabe (Akita)

Akita is really nice and traditional place to visit for foreigners.

You must visit there if you wanna feel ‘real Japan’.

Their famous nabe is Kiritanpo Nabe, and Kiritanpo is kind of rice cake.

Grill skewer rice in Irori stove.

Like this

Kiritanpo becomes crunchy outside and soft inside.

Kiritanpo Nabe is soy source based, and they put taro-potato, vgetable, mashroom, etc.

OMG… I am so hungry now…

You can enjoy those nabe as well as ski in Hokkaido an Akita.

If you wanna make your trip a bit different, we recommend Japanese short term course.

Japanese school in Hokkaido offers 4/8 weeks Japanese course in January.

You are not only learning Japanese but also going to day trip and of course….. Skiiiiii!!!!!!

Feeling cold after skiing, you can really really enjoy Nabe making you warm.

(And Onsen spa!! Yes please!!)

Why don’t you take this opportunity?

FUN = Japan in winter!!
