Celebrating Success: Interview with David-san, a 2024 JLPT N5 Graduate!

The results for the 2024 JLPT have just been announced, and we’re thrilled to share that several students from our school have passed!　*For those who want to know more about the JLPT, click here 👉Do you know what “JLPT” is?

We had the opportunity to interview some of them, and today we’re excited to spotlight David-san, who passed the JLPT N5. 

Interview with David-san

Congratulations on passing N5, David-san!

Q. Why did you get this qualification?

A. Having a goal keeps myself motivate to continue learning Japanese. I hope to one day use this qualification to work in Japan.

Q. How long did you study before passing?

A. I studied for about a year before I passed.

Q. Which class do you take in BBIC?

A. I take the group lesson (Upper Beginner 1).

Q. How much self-study did you do?  

A. I dedicated about an hour a day to self-study.

Q. What were the difficult points of studying for JLPT? 

A. The grammar was challenging because I still haven’t wrapped my head around all the different usages of particles. The list of Kanji was huge but simply required memorizing.

Q. How did BBIC help you in preparing for the JLPT？

A. The group lessons I take with Sae-sensei puts a practical aspect to the material that I studied for. She also provides useful tips and advise for not only the exam but in using Japanese more fluently. BBIC has helped me to ace my exam in a short amount of time it took to study for it.

Q. Do you have any advice for those who are considering enrolling in BBIC?

A. The group lessons are fun, encouraging and a safe space to make mistakes. I look forward to learning Japanese with BBIC every week and it’ll be a rewarding experience for anyone with an interest in Japanese.
